YAMPA RIVER RAFTING TRIP DESCRIPTION

This may be the last opportunity to explore the Yampa River through Dinosaur National Monument.

There is a water diversion pipeline project being proposed. If this project is implemented, no one will ever have the opportunity to explore the mighty Yampa River through Dinosaur National Monument in it's natural state again.

Adrift Adventure's Yampa River rafting trip is one of the most sought after rafting trips in the United States. This rafting trip rivals the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River. The Yampa River is last major free flowing, un-damed rivers in the United States. Due to the natural flows of this river the rafting season is just a few short weeks in May & June.

Begin Rafting in Colorado and end in Utah. Explore this unique, colorful, 2000 foot tall sandstone canyon as meanders 72 miles through Dinosaur National Monument. The Yampa River offers incredible scenery. The Yampa River through Dinosaur National Monument feels like you are exploring another planet. You will be anxious to see what is around the next bend. This is a great family trip because the rafting is very forgiving, there is plenty of time to relax and enjoy your company and your incredible natural surroundings.

Each evening your small party will camp in a different riverside location. Camping in the canyon is one of the highlights of any rafting trip. You will arrive at camp early each afternoon allowing you to explore and hike learning about unique geology, history, wildlife and indian rock art and dwellings. You may just relax by the river. There are no set schedules so you may participate on your own pace.
